OUR HANUKKAH MENU
With Hanukkah now in full swing there’s more cooking and eating to be had. This year, with Hanukkah falling late we decided to do our family dinner a bit early with our good family friends.
If you’re looking for inspiration for your Hanukkah menu, here’s what we made:
Hanukkah 2024
Latkes: my mom has been making Mimi Sheraton’s Potato Pancake recipe, found in From My Mother’s Kitchen: Recipes and Reminiscences my entire life. They are a bit more time-consuming than others, but I think the extra effort is worth it. A version of her Potato Pancakes can be found here at the New York Times.
Homemade apple sauce made by my mom from her mom’s personal recipe.
Brisket: Louisa Kasdon’s Legendary Brisket. I highly recommend purchasing our local One Table: A Cohasset Community Cookbook (available for sale at Anchor & Sail). I’ve made this brisket several times and it’s easy, uses a handful of ingredients, and is absolutely delicious and flavorful.
A simple green salad: probably something Eric Kim’s Green Salad with Dill Vinaigrette from the New York Times.
